Vicky's Dad is still at Washington Hospital Center, Vicky's Mom just got admitted to Kaiser Urgent Care,... I'd be there with her if it were't for five loads of laundry I'm currently running.

It's been another long day in what's been a very long week. I don't feel like cooking... So here's dinner. A good rose' wine goes especially well with PB&J, wouldn't ya say?

One of our Windows NT Servers recovered from a bugcheck late last night, so I had to run to the basement to check on the server this morning. Here are pictures from one of our several server rooms.

We're running several Oracle database servers and Microsoft SQL Servers. We serve websites for the EPA using a number of Windows 2000 Servers running IIS, JRun, Tomcat, and Coldfusion with JDBC/ODBC connections to the database servers.

(Sorry, folks, we primarily develop and adminstrate websites under Windows. We have several Redhat Linux machines, a PowerMac, and now a Sun Sparc, but they're all for development systems only. Hopefully this might change.)

Vicky's dad got rushed to Washington Hospital Center last night for chest pains. We stayed until about midnight. Vicky's mom has the flu and has been running a fever, so we get frequent calls from her or Vicky's sister. We got up at 5 this morning, so between the overnight calls and the late night, we might have gotten 2 or 3 hours' sleep total.

I'm going to be draggin' today. =/

Some offices have a Starbucks nearby. Some offices have really cool coffee vending machines which dispense fresh coffee goodness when a paper cup is placed underneath. Not here, we have bland coffee day in and day out.

Oh well...

Is there anything more gorgeous than a working satellite internet connection at sunset? :P

j/k... But it is nice. I can't believe we went a year without it working correctly. It's been working perfectly throughout all sorts of weather since we had it remounted and realigned.
