Just left the Fat Demos beat battle competition. dudes battling making beats on the fly, remixing tracks and banging out beats on the spot.

Pics in no particular order: the machines( Mpc 2000 , Mpc2000xl, Mpc4000, and the original the father to them all, the sp1200), my man Dj Tommy Talkz on the 1s and 2s, the older cat Mr Ish given the young dudes a lesson as he bangs out on the sp1200, and other random pics.

The winner a dude named either Goldy or Golden child, from Brooklyn, took the theme song from cheers and flipped it into a ill hip hop beat. You had to be there to understand.

Check out there websites: www.fatdemos.com and www.bangingbeats.com for hi lites and more info .I believe they even have audio and /or video clips on the site, but of course tonites clips won't be on there yet. peace, Dj Fantom

I Dj Fantom am inviting all of my fellow NYC Sk'rs to our annual Block Party this saturday the 23rd. Taken place in Jamaica Queens, NY. The adress is 108 ave. And 164st from 1pm-8pm after party TBA. Music by: who else but NY's Finest- Djaaaaaaaaaaaay Fantom. There's gonna be plenty of activities for the children also; face painters, games, basketball, plenty of food. Public figures. So if your in the NYC area do come thru.

I must warn though this neighborhood is in what is considered the "ghetto" or "inner city" so if your not usualy in areas like that or don't feel comfortable in urban areas I don't suggest you come. Though all are welcome :)

Pics: my "coffin" (case that holds turntables and mixer) contents: 2 Technic 1200 mk2 turntables, Technics Sh1200 DMC mixer, and a Gemini 24 second sampler

Pic: got all my records together(yes they still make vinyl records, but only us dj realy use them any more) , even though a lot of djs are converting to cds ,which im thinkinking about doing in the next year. Even if I do ill NEVER I repeat NEVER get rid of my vinyl or turntables.

(gotta have my tunes) peace, Dj Fantom
