That's my photo!

Heather is awesome! She made me a new laptop sleeve from scratch! Cordura, padding, and even a zipper!

Just a few examples of the lessons learned the past week at Burning Man: - Don't bring good shoes, the pic shoes the before and after cleaning of a pair of sneakers covered in playa dust - 1 gallon of water per day is sufficient for drinking. - The previously mentioned High Sierra bag is not so awesome when 2 of the seams have ripped. - Piercings can get unhappy real easily, but looks like my arm should heal back up fine now that I'm in more normal environments. --divinity -- AIM: divmobile --
Maybe it's just me...

The only pictures I actually took with my Sidekick for the entire week. These were taken the day after we got there and claimed camp, then the sidekick went in a ziploc bag, not to be opened until we left. It was nice to disconnect from the world for a little over a week, no phone calls, no emails, no text messages, just communication with the people around me. After clocking in close to 25hrs of sleep in the last 33hrs, I'm geting close to caught up. :) --divinity -- AIM: divmobile --

Spent the evening working on the CVS camcorder. I originally wanted to solder in a usb connection inside the camera in order to make plugging it in as easy as plugging a normal camera in, but have not found the female end of a mini usb connection yet. So in the meantime I thought hacking up an old printer cable in order to get the connector which I heard had the right spacing for the pins. That didn't work so hot. After the elegant approach of hammer and flat-blade screwdriver I found myself with damaged pins and not enough patience to solder around them. (See the mangled blue piece in the picture) So instead I went ghetto-geek, which always seems to work well for me. A piece of cardboard, a razor blade to make grooves to keep the wires straight, and plenty of tape. With a steady hand, I was soon downloading the first videos off my new $24.99 video camera. I haven't tweaked the quality yet, so here are the 320x240 vids straight off the camera (xvid codec required): Video 1 - Video 2 --divinity -- AIM: divmobile --

It's a gorgeous day in Chicago too, 49deg. Ran out to the tmobile store to grab another set of bumpers for hiptophunt.com prizes. --divinity -- AIM: divmobile --
