I got tired of lugging the laptop back and forth between upstairs and downstairs so I can work downstairs and then watch movies in bed. So I snagged a wireless card for one of the desktops and brought it upstairs. Right now it's the poor man's setup, but if it works out (and the wireless starts behaving) it'll do for the next 2 months. Plus the LCD should be here tomorrow so that will save some space too.

And he goes out and buys random stuff with LEDs that he doesn't need. :) (the rest is being put towards the San Francisco fund)

Apparently Tammy Duckworth wants to hide her phone number when sending out annoying prerecorded messages asking for my vote. Cell phone spam instantly gets you a "vote for someone other than Tammy Duckworth" from me.

Mmm fresh fruit.. I've been eating way too healthy lately. And while it's no "peanut butter & chili," I do eat kiwi with the skin still on. Is that weird?

My morning commute of a bike ride across the playa has been replaced with a rainy drive to work. The good thing is my car started today with the new battery!

With so much worry about the Falcon needing the AAA service somewhere between Burning Man and San Francisco, it was rather ironic to come home and find that my car wouldn't start. My first call to AAA and 30 minutes later I'm back up and running.

Spending some time sleeping in with the girls who were not very happy with me for leaving for another 2 weeks. I dread getting up at this point as I know I need to start unpacking, do laundry, go grocery shopping, update my budget, pay bills, transfer pictures and videos, and the list goes on...

Uggh... 3 days into quitting smoking, worn out from the past week and I got to sit by a group of loud, drunk, 60 year old women celebrating a birthday in Las Vegas. Normally I'm not one to complain about people's happiness, but add a crying baby, a turbulent ride in seemingly clear weather, and I'm ready to get off this plane. Luckily diving into a few chapters of Breaking Open the Head helped distance myself from the immediate external stimuli.

Getting ready to head out of California on the first leg back to Chicago. :( Only 2 months to hold out until I'm back out here.

We passed through Reno and Sparks, stopping to stock up on Sparks and a few other things at the Albertsons. They even had big signs and a staging area with well-stocked items essential for burners. Now we're ruising down I80 on a gorgeous day with the sun starting to dip down behind the mountains. Only a matter of miles before we're at Black Rock City!
