Been awhile since I've had metal shoved through a body part so I went down to Tattoo Illusions to see Tony and got my inner lobes pierced. Smallest piercing to date with 16g, but at least something a little more unique.

We went out with friend's from Britni's work. Everyone gathered at our place and brought beer and food, and we ended up heading out to The Loft in Mt Prospect, IL The cover band wasn't so great, but they had Guinness on tap so that was good enough for me. We closed The Loft and headed over to Dick's for some more late night drinking. Unfortunately due to some parking lot "relieving" by some members of our party they wouldn't let us all in, so after one drink we headed home. Another sunrise, another hangover, and we have a fridge full of leftover beer... Only 2 sparks though, so something will have to be done about that..

Motion sensitive half can that plays a jingle and says "Drink Sparks!" Asked the guy if I could have it, but they just got it in today. Is it bad that the guys at the store know me as "Sparks" ?

Went out with Brit to dinner @ Bennigans in Schaumburg, IL and then to see War of the Worlds. Dinner sucked. Took us 10 minutes before we even put in drink orders, another 30 minutes till we got our food, and we noticed partway through our meal that there were fruit flies buzzing around. Bleah. Don't eat at the Bennigan's off Higgins Rd in Schaumburg, IL. They did however have a hiptop sticker in their bathroom.

Spending the afternoon at Wired's NextFest. Here's a photodump of what we've seen so far. Including (but not limited to): screens made of "fog", cloned cats (named Baba Ganoush, smartcar, GM fuel cell concept cars, Skycar, video games controlled by treadmill, a watercraft modeled after a dolphin, something about truck tracking for walt, the Saturn Sky (which I now want), a shoe with wireless communication and exercise tracking info (you can "beam" contacts between shoes!), a phone controlled car, robot DJs mixing vinyl, the Motorola screens getting skefnetted, a guy walking on tiles that would cycle around so he could keep walking in place, HUBO hanging, and Stinky (the robot built by the Phoenix high school kids that beat out MIT, as reported on Wired.com). Whew... We're breaking for lunch at the Riva cafe and then it's back inside to catch demonstrations and the rest of it.
