| The Funky Buddha Lounge in Chicago, IL Sat 11.05.05 10:49pm PST #15966 |
![]() ![]() We are now driving home from the Funky Buddha Lounge (728 W Grand ave, Chicago, IL) where we were turned away at the door. One of our friends was celebrating her birthday there and provided them with a guest list that we were on. So, thinking we were on the guest list, we head into the city, about a 30 minute drive or so. The rain is pouring down, we pull up to the Funky Buddha Lounge and see a long line. We chuckle and think to ourselves, glad we pre-booked and don't have to wait in that line! The valet says we're in luck, he just turned away the previous two cars, but one spot just opened up. We handed him our $10 and went looking for the right entrance to bypass the line. Oh, did I mention it was pouring down rain? We find a doorman running around. He says we have to wait to get in but we can wait in the VIP area and then scurries off. We open the door to what we assume is the VIP area only to get yelled at by the entire line thinking we're cutting in on the normal line. We go and find an overhang to get some shelter and call our friend who is already inside. She comes to the front, tries to talk to the people at the door to no avail, we wave goodbye and get the valet to get our car. VIP my ass. We didn't really want to pay for the overpriced, weak drinks anyways. Bastards probably don't even have Sparks either. So the lesson learned tonight is that the Funky Buddha Lounge at 728 W Grand Ave, Chicago, IL was a waste of time. At $10 for parking that's a cheap lesson compared to the $20 cover charge. |

| 1000 club! Sat 10.22.05 12:38am PDT #15796 |
I received an email/comment from my textamerica blog saying I had been promoted to the TextAmerica 1000 Club. Uhh TA, you're a bit late, the count shows 1827 pics posted. Better get that 2000 invite ready. :) but I loaded up the 1000 Club page to check it out and found a familiar face right there on the first page! Hi PhD. :) |
