![]() ![]() ![]() I'm amazingly bored at work and annoying people with text messages so now it's time to blog some boring pictures (wow I just spelled pictures wrong for the 7th time in a row, I'm becoming dyslexic or something). Here are some kick ass books I'm currently reading. I like to process lots of information at once, so at any given time I'm reading 4-6 books at the same time. I just pick the one I feel like reading the most at a given moment and work on it. The downside to that is that I have to carry around 4-6 books because I never know what I'm going to want to read. Great for my mind, hell on my back. Anyways here's the rundown: Sex, drugs, and cocoa puffs - chuck klosterman, chuck, a writer for spin magazine, writes a series of essays that aim to bring a better understanding to pop culture and it's impact on our lives. For example, why everyone born between 1970-1979 has some knowledge about saved by the bell, and why that crappy show was soooo good to watch. Or why mtv no longer reflects youth culture but now actively shapes it. Or why pam anderson is the marylin monroe of today. Or why the hell everyone is addicted to The Sims Its a great book and anyone interested in pop culture should check it out. Especially if you've ever sat around with friends just discussing the genius of film or music or tv, perhaups while intoxicated. Plus chuck is such a bitter, cynical bastard you'll laugh out loud several times. Next up, is "rich dad, poor dad" by robert kiyosaki. This guy explains why the school district is teaching the wrong stuff. People are taught to work for money, instead they should be taught to have money work for them. The book makes great sense and is a must read for anyone looking to be financially independent. And finally, the old standby, "how to win friends & influence people" by dale carnegie. Written in the 1930's the book holds the key to interpersonal communication. Communicating with people well can change the worst of situations into the best. This book explains how to do just that. It has really stood the test of time. A must read for everyone. Hit me up on aim: cdf12345 is any of you wanna talk. I'm sooooo damn bored @ work =) --Chris Falco p.s. best buy rewardzone! woot, if you're like me and will spend more than $175 at best buy over the next 12 months get the $9.99 membership, you'l make your money back, plus get lots of freebies. |

| the holla dolla returns!! Wed 08.20.03 3:14am PDT #5903 |
![]() ![]() ![]() So I come into work today, as you've seen in my earlier post I wrote holla on a $5 bill and gave it to a customer as change. I almost had a heart attack when a customer paid for coffee at 4 am with my 5 dolla holla!! I figured the only thing left to do was to add back to the dolla, thus making it a holla back dolla. I'll be sending it out into the world again soon. I'll let you know if I run across it again! --Chris Falco |
