| Great poker night! Tue 04.06.04 4:16am PDT #8709 |

Played a ton (12 actually) single table poker tournaments 11 of them being $10+1 buyins ($121)and 1 $20+2 ($22)(cause I felt saucy!) Total Buyin: $143 dollars invested in 12 tourneys. Average finish 3.89 out of 10 (top 3 get paid) That breaks down to: Three first place wins for a NET total of $156 in prize money Three second place finishes for a NET total of $57 in prize money Two third place finishes for a NET total of $18 in prize money Total NET prizes won $231 Total loses from tables finished out of the money: $44 (4th, 5th, 7th and 9th place finishes = $0 prize money) Total NET prize money for the night $187.00 649 total hands played average of 29 cents per hand profit. Total April tournament standings on Party Poker (20 tournaments) +$212 Profit Thanks to PokerTracker.com's software that allows me to track all of this, it's completely worth the $55 if you are a serious player. ------- This is all training for the Million Dollar Tournament I am playing in on April 17th. It's a $640 buy in so Party Poker needs 1563 players to break even, at the time of writing this there are 1220 Registered. The top 130 will probably be cashing in this tourney, minimum payout will be $1,000. I'm totally looking forward to taking my shot at the big money. I had a bad week or so, but I've took a look at my game, and fixed some serious leaks. I feel I'm playing quite well right now, and hopefully I'll have good cards to play in the big game. Party poker just added a feature that allows you to change your username, so watchout, that shark you avoid may already be at your table! Havent had any local B&M games so I'm kind of itching to play somewhere after have 4 days of crazy poker in vegas. Hopefully I'll find a charity event or home game soon. More updates to follow, Peace, Respect. --Chris Falco |
| the girl next door movie Mon 04.05.04 1:55pm PDT #8703 |
|
I just saw this last night, um lets say I "found" a copy of it on the internet. It's an excellent movie, not nearly as raunchy as american pie although the ads would like you to think otherwise. If you like actual sentimental movies, definately check this one out. Personally I'm a sucker for relationship and "fate" type movies. I always liked the idea of the regular guy getting the girl in the end. (maybe because I'm hoping it'll happen to me =) ) Anyways, don't go to this movie expecting nudity, there's very little, and what there is, is shot at long angles and without much detail. Actually I think putting nudity in this movie would have been wrong, the payoff for this film is that they didnt have to resort to that. I'm 3 years into college now, and my high school days fell somewhere between the jocks (partying 24/7) and the nerds (no social life whatsoever.) The movie does a great job of showing both types of people. Here's what really struck me. So far all the raunch movies (american pie, van wilder, etc.) are focused on either high school or college, but use actors that look way too old to be in high school. (look at the lacross scene in american pie 1, there's a guy who is half bald, and has to be in his 30's). This movie has actors that are actually the age of the characters and look it. So the realism is very well done. Soundtrack = Wow, one of the best, it wont date the movie, but really sets the mood. Here's the big thing that I think makes this movie stand out. In some of the trailers and ads they keep saying a movie "for a whole new generation". That's probably the best tagline ever, here's why: I grew up in the 90's, the tech boom in the beginning and the internet boom during the end. Therefore, I was able to experience many many things that previously people my age never had until much later in life. The result of this is that many people my age become comfortable (or at least tolerant) of things, like porn for example. Maybe it's a teenage male thing but the characters in this movie are exactly like the people I knew in high school. I have a friend just like Eli, loves porn, everyone knows about it, and he doesnt care. People in my class could identify porns stars if they walked in to our gym during prom. We grew up with technology that allowed us to explore things without our parents even having a clue. It's almost an inside joke, everyone that age "gets" it but no one older does, they may understand that they are being made fun of or something is not right, but they just don't "Get" it. At the beginning of the movie at the pep rally, I knew I was going to love this movie. The way the students are playing out their own jokes, and just loving it, and the way the adults just don't get it, that's any high school function in a nutshell. I think that if you talked to most high school seniors right now, they'd think the portrayal of the students, while a tad stereotypical at times, is really dead on for the most part. The whole storyline that plays out at prom is another example of this, the students basically running the show, but giving the adults enough details to allow them to believe they are in control. Some of the scenes are brilliant, and so well done I was feeling real uncomfortable watching them along with the characters (the strip club, the motel, etc). The only thing I kind of thought could be done a little better was the good guy/bad guy angle with Kelly. He kind of flipped between total cool guy and total jerk. The problem is he comes off as a likable character, and I wish they could have found a different way to have him play a bad guy. Anyways, the ending is excellent, I really hope this movie does some good box office, maybe we'll see more of these "smarter" teen movies. Anyways, go see this movie, it's well worth the price of admission, even just to listen to all the great music in the soundtrack! --Chris Falco |

A quick goal at the start of the 3rd makes it 2-0. Not even really a goal just a deflection off a face off. The hogs get one back a few minutes later with a really nice pass across the crease. In the end though, with several fights, the hogs fall 2-1. 2 home games left, and I'm hoping to be there! --Chris Falco |

![]() ![]() ![]() Still 1-0 them, how lame, Chuck a puck, everyone gets a puck to throw on the ice, you land it in the center face off circle you get $500. Some guy just did! A few fights and lots of sin bin minutes but the hogs just can't find the back of the net, they got 20 mins to score. More to come. --Chris Falco |

Ok, Party poker is having a Million Dollar Guaranteed Tournament on April 17th. The prize pool is Guaranteed to be $1,000,000 USD. The buy in for this tournament is $600(entry)+40(house fee) A little steep, I think. But here's the cool thing, you can play single table tourneys to qualify. There are direct $64+6, 10 player single table tourneys and sub-qualifing $7+1 10 player tourneys. No brainer right? So I play a couple of $7+1's last night, win them both, then lose one this morning. So I have 2 free $64+6 buyins to try to win a seat in the main $600+40 Million Dollar event. Problem is, I've had a hard time finding 9 other people to fill the $64+6 table to get a tourney started. I log on at like 2am tonight and find 1 person sitting in the $64+6 room waiting for people to join, I also take a seat, plus I sit in three $10+1 cash tournaments. After 45 minutes, we have 10 players and begin the $64+6 table. By then I've busted out of one $10+1 early, Busted out on the bubble (4th) on another, and am playing heads up for the win on the third (I lost). So I won $30 on the $10+1's that cost me a total of $33 to enter, net amount -$3.00. (bummer, but I was really close to hitting big) Anyways, the $64+6 goes on forever, partially because you start with 1000 tournament chips (T1000) as opposed to the normal 800 tournament chips (T800). At one point it was down to 5 players and I'm short stacked, I make a few moves, and end up going all in 4 times to take the lead with around T4500 (out of 10,000 total). Suddenly the game becomes an all in orgy, seriously, for like 8 hands in a row, there is no flop and someone is always all in before the blinds get a chance to act. Finally someone gets called and busted out. We're down to 4, I lose the chip lead as I'm forced to throw away some real crap hands to modest raises. Another one drops and we are down to 3. The player with the chip lead around T5500 starts using his big stack to push us around, he is doubling the big blind every hand, I get a good hand and go all in to double up. I have A9s and the flop comes QA7, I check, he checks behind me, a rag hits the turn, I again check. A ten comes on the river, I again check, he bets out and I triple hit bet with a raise, he calls and I take down about T3000 Finally the other two go heads up and he's crippled even more. Soon after he finally loses it all on a despiration move-in. Now we are heads up. I get a decent hand and go up to T6000 vs his T4000. A few hands later, he moves all in with a pair and I call with my ace, and he hits, and I dont. I'm down to T1500, I get delt crap and have to fold a few hands and steal a few blinds to survive. At one point I'm down to T700. I get a few bluffs to work and catch trip Kings with my K9 all in vs his 910o and I'm back to T2000 at least some breathing room. I play tight and slowplay some top pairs, finally I'm up to T5800 after grinding it out. I get my K9o again, he moves all in. I've had good luck with the K9 and I've got the chip lead so I can afford a loss here, so I call, taking the chance to win the satelite. He turns over A2o, I'm behind and will need to catch some cards to win. The flop comes 4h 2c Qc no help for me The Turn is my miracle King of diamonds. as long as I avoid an ace I'll be the winner. The river is the moment of truth, it's another red card, and it's image slowly hits my eyes, and it's a 9 of diamonds, giving me two pair and the victory! I've turned my $8.00 tourney fee into a $640 seat in a million dollar tournament. This is almost as good as playing in the World Series of Poker! It's now 6am while I write this, so I should probably get some sleep. Here's the cool thing though, I still have a few seats for the $64+6 single table tourneys left, and if I win one of those, I just get the $640 in cash! Cha-Ching! I wake up wednesday and get ready for the wedding at 4pm. I take a shower and get dressed. I run down to Marc's room to see how everyone's doing. I borrow some shoes and a shirt since I didnt pack anything but spring breakish clothes. We get everything set and head down to the chapel at about 3:58pm. We get a rundown from the minister who is conducting the ceremony, I sign the license as a witness and take my spot in the chapel. Everything goes off without a hitch, I didn't lose the ring or drop it, (phew!). Steph found a dress somewhere in vegas that was gorgeous! Everything was really nice and it's all official now! Afterwards we all went to the Neferititi's Lounge in the hotel and drank some champagne. We all went to dinner at the italian Regali's inside Excalibur, it was also very very good. I actually went back to the room after that to change clothes, and when I got there I ended up being pretty tired and fell asleep until about 4am. At that point I went down to the Luxor Poker room.
