| million tourney screwed up Sat 04.17.04 5:31pm PDT #8858 |

Right now, there are about 200 players left and tables 8 and 16 are frozen, they haven't played a hand in 30 minutes. Calls to party are doing no good helping because they are in india and clueless. So there better be a nice chop or something because this is crazy. --Chris Falco |

#1253! I was looking for something under 130. Tourney notes: Something needs to be done about giving extra starting chips to players that play raked hands. It's just not right to do in a cash tournament like this. Starting with 1000 chips at a table when 8 people have the max 2000 is just unfair. I paid my $600 buy in, and I paid my $40 vig to party so look if they want to comp their players for their big cruise of something, fine, but for a cash tournament with that big of a buy-in, very unprofessional to me. I knew about it but I really didnt expect it to tilt the odds so early in the tournament. Being able to set someone all in on the first hand and still have 1000 chips left, that's just not right. I got very subpar hands, 73o on the big blind 3 times in the first 2 levels So anyways, according to poker tracker... Over 5 levels and 90 minutes, I played a total of 6 hands AA, 22, AJ, AQ, 99 AKs when not on a blind. Early I had AA, raised to 50. 3 callers. On the flop rainbow under cards came, and I checked the flop. Heads up on the turn, a second spade hit the board. The player bet 15, I raised to 75. He called. River put a third spade, he checked to be, and worried, I also checked. He showed the JK of spades. Ther was no J or K on the board. Robbed me of 400+ chips and dropped me to around 800. I dropped down to 600 from taking the blinds when I got A10s on the button. Flop came A10x, I got back to 950 with that hand. Again the blinds knocked me down to 700, when I got 99 in mid position with an unraised pot. I pushed all in. and stole the blinds. Down to 1300 players in the 5th level with 50/100 blinds, I pick up AKs on the button. Everyone folds to me and I push all in hoping to steal the blinds. the BB calls with QQ, it holds up and I'm out at 1253 of 2000. I'm not upset about how I played, I just wish I would have had cards to play. 6 hands in 100 is not much. And many of those were in the first level when I had small pairs hoping to hit a set. Something does need to be done about the extra starting chips. Can you imaging if the Bellagio did this at the $25,000 WPT championship? Lets say they have their table 1 players twice as many starting chips as everyone else. People would be outraged! Overall, for a $7+1 satelite it was worth it, but it would have been nice to cash. I think I'll stick to the SnG's for now, and maybe play a few weekday or weekend specials. --Chris Falco |

"Kellaris said random shuffle likely appeals to the MTV generation -- kids with short attention spans who are likely "brain damaged." 'Personally, and I believe I speak for many old farts here, I appreciate listening to music, be it an opera or a pop album, in the sequence in which the artist decided to present it,' he said." http://tinyurl.com/2xklu Are you an old fart??!? I personally love my shuffle option, it's great when you have 4000+ songs in your pocket and feel like being randomly led on an audio journey. --Chris Falco |

| I hate comcast! Tue 04.13.04 8:17am PDT #8786 |

Ok, ever since comcast took over att's cable operations my internet connection has gone to shit. Today I am playing 3 $10+1 sng's on party. I am the chipleader in 2 and am shortstacked in the third. There 6-7 players left in each and my connection drops. Its completely dead for 20 minutes. When I finally get back, I realise I've only got chips left in one table and I'm down to 700, with blinds at 300/600. I go all in with 89o and lose. I find out I finished 3rd in two of the tourneys so I actually made $7 for the three tourneys. I can only imagine how much I'd be ahead if I could have continued to dominate those tables. In review: I hate you comcast, I hope you die! --Chris Falco |

First hand of a $10+1 SNG on Party last night, I get 77, one guy raises to 125 and there's 4 callers, I'm near the button, so I throw it all in. Comes back around and the raiser calls and so does 1 other person. I'm up against AK(hearts) and QQ ouch Flop is 3 K 7 with 2 hearts, Turn brings the J of hearts. River is a King. I win 2465 on the first hand. I'm thinking I've got the money locked up right? I get down to 4 players I have 3500, 2nd in chips has 3000, the other two are around 750 each. I get A of hearts 10 of clubs. Flop is heads up me and 2nd in chips. Flop is As 10h Jh I check to slow play, and the guy bets into me 500, I call Turn is 8h, I again check, this time the guy pushes all in. I've been watching this guy all tournament and he loves stealing when scare cards come. I call. He turns over 9h10s, middle pair and 4 flush. The river? How about the Queen of hearts. My hand flopped top two pair, improved to the nut flush, then lost to a straight flush on the river by a guy that was drawing to 2 outs. I'm down to like 500 in chips, have to take the BB, get dealt 74o and am raised all in. I fold and am blinded out. Talk about a rough beat, especially after starting so well. I guess that shows the potential downfall to my tournament style, I play to win, not just make it in the money. I could have just blinded off chips to make the top 3 but winning these SnG's is what helps my bottom line. Plus, playing with 6500 of 8000 chips on the table with 2 other people would have been a cakewalk, as they would probably fight for second. Oh well, that's poker! On a side note: Our new site for poker players Rake-Back.com is going strong! If you are a poker player like myself please consider joining our program, you can get literally hundreds of dollars back each month from the online card rooms. Rake-Back.com has made arrangements with many of the most popular online poker rooms, (Party Poker, Empire Poker, Poker Room, etc.), we help the poker rooms grow and promote online poker by sending new players to their sites, in return the card rooms give us a percentage of the rake they take from the players we send to them. We feel that it is only fair to share that money with the people who paid it in the first place, YOU THE PLAYER! When you signup with one of our partners through us, we are able to track the amount of rake you contributed each month. At the end of each month, we pay you 50-75% of the money the card rooms send to us based on your level of play. Check out the site or e-mail me for info. --Chris Falco |
