A taco bell sign saying if we don't ask if you want a drink (read: annoy you) you get a free drink, gee thanks.....not. Random streetsign outside the museum of science and industry, chicago that I found curious. --Chris Falco CDF12345 on Skype |

So I was in Chicago mostly all weekend. First I had a Chicago2600 meeting on friday, it started at 5pm and finished at 10am the next day 17hrs later. Then on saturday, I drove in to chill with my friend jason, and his girlfriend wendy. I ended up staying overnight. Woke up sunday morning, took the El train to get some Jamba juice. And went back. Jason's sister, her boyfriend and two friends drove up to goto the jimmy buffet concerts at wrigley field. (The first concert @ wrigley field...ever, very cool.) We headed to wrigleyville via train, and hopped through some bars and ended up at a place called Hi-tops. $500 and many hours and crazyness, 2 Dj's and a Buffet cover band (Coco Loco) later, we tried to take a train back to Jason's apt. However it was now monday and on weekdays, trains stop at 1am. We decided to get food at Clarke's on clarke. It a cool hipster 24 hr cafe right by Clark and Belmont. The menus are cool with retro pictures from the 50's and funny captions. The food was good + cheap and I piled on some pancakes to soak up the coronas of the evening. Finally I got home around 6am. Slept till 3-4pm, ended up going back to chicago to grill out and play some ps2 with jason. Here are the pics we found on the digital camera the next day. I especially like the 5th one, since I had no clue what was going on beside me! --Chris Falco |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() I forgot to post these pics from when I went to the museum of science and industry. The big thing was the bodyworlds exhibit, however, no pictures were allowed, in fact, the staff wouldn't even let people take calls inside the exhibit. So I wandered over to the "game on" exhibit. Which was basically the history of video games. I already knew pretty much everything, but it was neat to see the actual original pong prototype. Or the working documents for classics like tomb raider and golden tee. Plus there was probably 75-100 games to play. One thing that annoyed me was that, all the main exhibits have their own fee. In addition to the admission to the museum. Personally, I'd rather pay a fee and not worry about what ehxibits I visited. I also saw an omnimax film about a team that navigated the blue nile river in africa, the last part of the river that had never been navigated from source to sea. It was an amazing film. And it really reinforces my belief that I need to travel to egypt before I die. Afterward, I went to Second City's romeo & juliet, a musical. It was awesome, very funny and liberal use of the S and F word. I actually ran into a friend during intermission which was unexpected, yet a nice surprise. Second city is great, and I would recommend the show to anyone. One tidbit I almost forgot. Before the show, music was playing, and blue oyster cult's don't fear the reaper came on, and I saw at least a dozen people (in the 150 seat) doing the "bang the cowbell" motion at the beginning of the song, and small yells of "more cowbell" could be heard. Unfortunately gene did not show up with a prescription of more cowbell. The show is only playing until sept 4th so if you get a chance do see it! --Chris Falco |
