The Upright Citizens Brigade (Matt Besser, Amy Poehler, Matt Walsh, and Ian Roberts) may be the most anarchic comics to come out of the late Del Close's legendary Chicago improv company, Second City. In their brand of sketch comedy, a theatre-of-the-absurd chaos develops from seemingly unrelated threads, which eventually come together with surreal precision. Comedy Central has finally released the first season of their brilliant and subversive sketch comedy show on DVD. If you liked MTV's The State, FOX's The Ben Stiller Show, and HBO's Mr. Show and I suggest you pick a copy now. |
