As have many of you, I have been following fellow moblogger Mike Lee as he prepares for fatherhood! Today his post made me very melancholy, thinking how just 6 years ago we too were embarking on that same journey...

I look at my son, and even though he is all so much of the 1st grader he is in all his glory-- I can still very vividly remeber the first time (at week 15) I felt that first little flutter in my belly to the contractions I didn't realize I was having while walking around the hospital as I was waiting for the induction meds to do their thing (got eclampsia at week 36, delivered week 37)!

Then the real work began! Being on the midnight shift, NO SLEEP, and yea, breastfeeding around the clock! I was a human buffet but it was well worth the splitting, cracking, and bleeding (yes folks, it aint pretty at first!) my breasts endured to give my son nature's most perfect food! The bonding experience, I can't even put it into words the emotions I had during that first 10 to 12 months! Awesome! I think it paid off.. He, to this day, has never had an ear infection! And we are as close as can be! ;) I encourage every woman to to it (nurse) for as long as she can even if it's a week--something is better than nothing! And dads, support, participation and encouragement is essential!!!!

Anyway like I said I am feeling melancholy and came upon one of my most favorite books from my "new mommy" days! It mixes humor and practical tips about nursing! Its in perfect condition (surprisingly) and I would be more than willing to gift it to you Mike Lee (and wife), just let me know.... :)

Ps, I am half Japanese and my "obachan" told me similar things when I was expecting too, lol!

If you've ever seen the infomercials for the steam sterilizer for your brushes, you know what nastiness lurks on your daily brusher.... I'll give it a shot. If it desnt work, I suppose a daily dunk in hydrogen peroxide will do my brush good too!

This is such a gorgeous day in PHX! For the first time in a while I've got the sunroof open and I am enjoying the view and day! 70 degrees with plenty of sun in November makes the brutal summers here worthwile!!! :)

These dogs were so cute standing so still in the window looking out, I almost thought they were fake! I didn't get closer because I knew they would brake their pose. They are at a place called "Under One Woof". Its a doggie daycare/grooming/shop place just for dogs in Chandler, AZ.

I rolled out to my favorite grocery store this afteroon and was kinda disappointed that they already have the Christmas decorations up in their parking lot... It seems like every year they start earlier and earlier......

After seeing webmaster Ke,(too funny!) hubby was able to procure courtside seats at the game for the 4th quarter! The pics didn't come out that good and of course did the actual view we had NO justice! We were courtside next to the Cavs bench, about 5 seats away actually. I tried to get the best shots I could of LeBron James, but yall know how the camera is! Anyway, got to go to the Cavs "locker room" area after the game, which is actually just an area that those with the postgame pass can go and get pics/autographs of the players who are gracious enough to stop for a second before they leave the arena. I left before LBJ came out because of course he would be last since he was doing the live interviews for TNT and others... Plus it was just about midnight and my sitter would be going into overtime, lol! It was a fun night for sure! :)
