![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Great brewpub beers and very good pours. Shelly had a french dip that was huge and had excellent flavor. The fries didn't have that nasty "old oil" flavoe either. I had the fish tacos with halibut in panko breading, also excellent. Real close to my work, so I'll be heading back there for lunch. | The houston 1836 finally sees the light Wed 02.15.06 7:11am PST #17199 |
![]() ![]() Well, they finally realized their name sucked, so after a whole month, they are going to change it. Here's the funny part. The target audience for these games is the hispanic community. Apparently they forgot what happened in 1836, besides the founding of Houston: 1. Texas won its independence from Mexico 2. The battle of the Alamo 3. The crushing defeat of Santa Anna at the hands of Sam Houston at the battle of San Jacinto Apparently, they're still sore at us about all that. Rumor has it that the new name will be the "Lonestar" or "lone star" which is a HELL of a lot better than 1836, mainly because it reminds me of beer. Heck I might even go see them now. Sleebus |

![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Finaly found time to try and bring my primary box back to life. I started having hard drive problems with it last year when I was in canada, so it's been down ever since. (!) Seagate supplies a pretty nifty data-mover software with the new drives, so I'm using that to transfer to the new drive. I've got a hefty fan pointed right at the drive in the coolest room in the house and it seems to be doing ok so far. Drive temp is 79 degrees, I'd like it to be lower than that tho. Looks like I'm about 2/3rds done so maybe I'll be lucky! Sleebus |
