Hard enough to make a lot of noise on the roof. Co-workers came by to look out the window.

Hit the card room here for the first time. My excuse was a geocaching event here. Played a 3/6 table for quite awhile and doubled up. Did very well with big slick on my last two hands. Finally got back to the group of geocachers I was with, but at that point many people were leaving. Decided to made a horse bet on a friend's instincts and lost. Then got lost from all of the group around 22:20. Put $5 on a win bet on horse 3 on race 8 and realized that I should stick to Poker. Overall a great night.

The Lake Street Reconstruction and Streetscaping between Hiawatha Avenue and West River Parkway in Minneapolis is scheduled to begin in 2006. This meeting is to show peliminary layouts of the project and show concepts of the enhancements, as well as to answer questions and take feedback. This project makes a dramatic impact to the businesses on Lake Street and residents in the area. I live two blocks from Lake Street so not only does this change my main corridor, it likely will have an impact on my home value. The direction everything is going, in my opinion, is very positive.

Nasty storm last night put some parts of the trees in the streets. Roommate Matt's car was parked right next to one of the largest fallen pieces. He just barely missed getting damage to his vehicle. By the time I took the photos someone had come to clear the road so cars could go through. Also strange was how my screen door became propped open with my patio furniture and door mat. Must have been windy.
48 Hour Film Project

Went to the Riverview Theater this evening to see films created in the 48 Hour Film Project. Simply put, you are charged with making a film in 48 hours. You are randomly given your genre 10 minutes before it begins and told three elements that must be included in the film. It took place last weekend and the three elements were "D. Poe the Runway Model," a "Congrats" Balloon, and the line "Do you have a breath mint?"

The screenings of the completed films were tonight and tomorrow night.

Friend Bo Hakala got "Superhero" as his genre and with his crew created the hilarious "Hover Man," a story of a super hero who slaps sense into people. And, he hovers. A witty and very humorous piece. The audience was rolling.

Was also plesantly surprised to see local actor and Comedy Central's "Let's Bowl" star Rich Kronfeld play a very funny character in the piece soon after, "Tapiocolate."

Overall a wide variety of pieces and well worth the $8. A lot of fun.

Dropping off some stuff in Stillwater and decided to stop by MGM Liquors where my friend Brian works. They now have Sparks and Sparks Light in stock. Brian said I just missed the guy who delivers it and I could have gotten some free Sparks stuff. Apparently MGM just got rid of a huge Sparks display as well. It's too bad that Brian can't beat the price I pay for it at Lake Street Liquors.

Heading up to Duluth. I lose GPRS service there until Sunday. Thanks to T-Mobile and their wonderful contract with Wireless Alliance. Their previous GPRS service was great. It's too bad they cut it off.
