| More Namennayo Stuff! Wed 12.07.05 9:27pm PST #16398 |
![]() ![]() ![]() My sister Amy, likely inspired by the gifts I got from Alexis, found some more なめ"なよ stuff! (Namenneko or Namennayo - seems to be spelled either way) She gave me another cat driving permit, a miniture driving permit that works as a mobile phone charm, and another mobile phone charm of a cat playing a guitar. On the other side of the charm is a soft cleaning surface for touching up the display of my hiptop! How utilitarian! That, and a screen cleaning cat playing a guitar is more pimp than any of the charms you can buy from T-Mobile. Thanks Amy! |

| Minnesota RollerGirls and Station 4 Mon 12.05.05 11:22am PST #16373 |
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Out with Brian, Matt, Andy, Linsay and her friends Jen and Amy. A bit more rough than the last two bouts in my opinion. Girls were constantly hitting the floor or the people sitting around the rink, Rat Bastard now has a couple fractured ribs and a couple fights broke out. Got a PBR Koozie (Free with PBR, I just had to get one), a PBR hat (which I am promptly giving to Bill), and two foam hands (given to us by the people in front of us that had to leave early). We are real fans now! Our free posh limo bus took us back to Station 4 where we caught the end of Morello. Good times! |

| The Happy Gnome, Saint Paul, MN Fri 12.02.05 11:15pm PST #16346 |
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Mark Van Wie from The Muddy Pig bought the space that used to be Chang O'Hara's and made The Happy Gnome. I was with Andy, Linsey, Amy, Brian and Tim. Right away we were surprised with how much smoke there was after making the assumption it would be smoke-free. For our group, it was problem enough where we requested to be put on the list for the non-smoking area and got seated a few minutes later. The beer and wine list is extensive and well picked. We got the artisan cheese plate and tried to be turophiles for a bit. A lot of the staff from the Muddy Pig was working there - enough where we asked who could possibly be keeping the Muddy Pig open. Mark Van Wie was also present talking with guests and drinking. While the lighting was even more dim than Chang O'Hara's and there was no music, a guy in the restroom joked about "how weird" it was and how it was like "going back" to Chang O'Hara's all over again. It's true, and it's hard to start calling this place "The Gnome" now. Even though the couches are gone and the menu is taken up quite a few notches, it feels like the Chang's crowd is back. We just get better food and far better drinks now. |
