Walking home from a mailbox on 34th and Lake Street. Here's some shots from my walk home on Lake to 32nd Ave E on 41st Ave S. An older man shoveling snow stopped me to say he measured 6 inches so far and there's "a lot more comin'."

While I am working on holiday cards, I decided I had the nuts to pull out a bottle in the fridge that has been taunting me for almost a year: Banana Wine. It was a gift from my sister and her boyfriend last Christmas. I asked for interesting wine and I got it, I guess.

Before even opening it, one notices the pixelated label looks like it was done in MacPaint. It's made by "Vive Winery, LLP" in Minneapolis. The place barely registers on the Google radar. The website listed on the bottle doesn't exist, and the address for the place I was able to dig up has a bunch of different companies associated with it. It's likely this "winery" doesn't exist anymore, and what I am about to drink is rare.

Well, I popped the cork. This Banana Wine is one of the most horrid things I have ever had.

I am impressed with how bad it is. I do taste the banana in it, and perhaps that's what counts.

Bill, Matt and I moved everything out of Ben's grandmother's apartment. As she's moved into a more managed care situation, most of the stuff will be donated.
Mason Jennings at First Avenue, Minneapolis

We are so far back on this sold out show that this is about as good as I am going to get for a photo. The show was enjoyable even if you couldn't see him. A great solo show; almost as good as his first show here. I can't wait for his next album. Most of the crowd was singing along with every song.

Matt and I out for a bite to eat after the show. Ran into Linsay's friend Jennifer on the way in. Apparently she ends up here on many Friday nights. Along with the pizza with pepperoni and roasted garlic, I had a Dr. Fresh's Cold Remedy. It's "a hot toddy made with Bushmill's and the juice of half a lemon." Arr num num. Matt enjoyed the Bell's Two Hearted Ale.

A Christmas show with Low. I'm impressed with how much holiday material they have. They brought bassist Matt Livingston along with about an 8 piece "choir" and a few other preformers. It's good to see Alan Sparhawk in decent shape.

Great as usual. Strange seeing the owner of the recently closed Molly Quinn's hanging out here.
