![]() ![]() So I thought I'd catch the morning flamingo march at Ardastra gardens, which is just a mile from the cruise ship port in Nassau. Turns out nearly everything on this island is within a few miles of the port, but that doesn't necessarily mean you should walk it, especially not in adorable, strappy new sandals (the adorable attribut gives a +2 when they roll dor damage to the feet). I'm just glad Mom made me take liquid bandage. Unfortunately it's not with me right now, but that's okay because me and the flamingos are zenning out together. --regan |

| Bahamas bound! Mon 02.28.05 3:06pm PST #12604 |
That's our ship pulling away from the last bits of Miami, about an hour ago. The buildings are just small blocks on the horizon now, fading into the grey distance. I can't imagine what this must have felt like hundreds of years ago, or even what it feels like for those Navy sailors who watch their families become smaller and smaller on the horizon as the carrier pulls away. Special thanks to my Dad and and Kathleen's dad. I know it wasn't easy. But we're proud you did it. --regan |

| No CocoCay for us... Wed 03.02.05 4:12pm PST #12595 |

Well, we didn't end up visiting CocoCay this morning, because the waves were too rough. It's a port where they can't take the boat in; you have to get in a tender to get to the shore. So it's just fine with me; I would have been hurling all the way to the sand, I'm sure. Plus, when I was in the spa this afternoon, I heard them mention that last year they took a cruise ship in, and they had to leave them there overnight, because it wasn't safe to come back. Sounds a bit to "Gilligan's Island" to me, except instead of making radios out of coconuts, the Professor would have been making a radio out of a drink in a pineapple. In other news, I think they need to add a new ShipShape activity on board. They should let all folks over 18 have a tranquilizer gun for a nominal fee, and any children caught playing tag through the cabins should be fair game. Plus, their parents. I think I'll suggest it to Warren, the cruise director, who's our buddy. I'm off to watch him introduce "Boogie Inferno." Ooohhee. Hold me back. --regan |

For everyone reading this, I apologize 1) for the fact that you haven't gotten any updates recently and 2) for the fact that you'll get 1 billion *Dr. Evil pose* updates when I get back within wireless zone. The satellite is patchy at best. I almost had a connection today on Nassau, but the flamingos were shielding or something. You'll hear all about them and my tired (ow!) feet later. Possibly twice on some of the postings, since the wireless connection will just keep trying to post. So um... hope you like reading about me. A lot. ;) --regan, in her formal outfit, heading off to hear the comedian and then watch the 11:45 ice sculpture display before we leave Nassau at midnight for warmer... rather... more secluded.... climes. |

For those curious, the image below is the tres cool travel candle Catherine gifted me with for the birthday. *Definitely* going on the trip with me. Testing out autoformatting while I'm at it. The above is a standard paragraph break in e-mail. The above was made with the HTML paragraph tag. |
