![]() ![]() ![]() Stopped off at the San Antonio branch of Antique Rose Emporium to replace the two roses I killed which drove me to install the watering system so my laziness will not be the cause of any more plants' demises. They specialize in non-hybridized roses. They smell spectacular, usually, because their genes aren't all watered down to make them hardier or bloom more. For the Houston hiptoppers, the main branch is in Brenham.... Mmm.... Bluebell and gardening. And if anybody non-Texas is interested, they do online ordering at weareroses.com. --regan, the rose-slayer |

The photo is mostly barrier, but over it you can espy some tubers enjoying the chill of the Guadalupe River. The barrier is in place cause folks used to jump off the bridge to get in the water, apparently. Sounds stupid until you realize most folks rent tubes for every human in their party, and an extra for the beer cooler. --regan |
