In more depressing news, Galveston's Dickens on the Strand, which is an amazing holiday event, isn't looking too promising. Fire tore through The Strand last night. I'm hoping the Elissa is docked elsewhere. --regan

San Antonio is beginning to get insane. I got the last two Maglites from Wal-Mart. Hopefully I won't need them.

Took the day off after not sleeping last night. Got a flight out Saturday morning, just about the time Rita should start being hectic here. Been trying to get my homeowner's association to fix my roof for the last year and a half to no avail. I'm loath to leave the Sug in a potential ceiling-fall situation.

I heard Delta (back before they filed for bankruptcy earlier this week) was going to get rid of their blankets. I was bummed; I'm often found sleeping on the earliest flight out when I travel. Looked down after I got to D.C. today, and my nails are Continental Blue Blanket tinged. Kinda creepy.

In other Blue news, the Blue Line pulled off as I came off the escalator, so I'm here for a while entertaining myself. The LCDs are out, so I'm not sure exactly how long. Here's a shot of the Yellow Line while I wait. --regan

The Shops at La Cantera opened today, and Lucky Magazine hosted an event which Amy and I attended. I *love* Lucky. Got to meet the Merchandising Editor, who was a lover of the magazine also before she took the job. Plus, I have a half a dozen pages ripped from magazines in the back of my car for those random "find something like this" missions. They had one of those exact pages blown up like 100x on a big display in the Ideology section. It was eerie; I bought the jacket. The serendipity was probably helped along in that regard by the fact that it was 20% off. --regan

But all the Document Management / Portal chickeritas (L to R: Amy, Karen, Sheryl, me) wore the same black and blue color scheme. I can only assume our collective subconscious is feeling bruised. :) --regan

A big shout out to Mike for coming over and dragging my ass out of bed. He even made sure I ate lunch, knowing that when I get in a funk like this (Granny unreachable, Mom unhappy, job untenable, festival still over 1000 miles away) I tend not to eat. Mmm. Rome's Pizza.

The Adult Swim shirt, BTW, started out as a men's x-large before I and my serger got a hold of it.

And to make it even better, when I got back from refilling the antidepressant, there was Sampler in my mailbox. Sug loves The Sampler almost as much as I do. (You can see her ultrasound spot right behind her front shoulder. Don't tell her I told you that. She's very self-conscious.) --regan
