Catherine agreed to go with me (and after a Check Engine light in the hybrid, ended up driving) up to Austin to catch the nearest showing of Mirrormask, Neil Gaiman's new film with Jim Henson's Creature Shop. We indulged in the new "Venetian" wing of the San Marcos outlet first, including the Restoration Hardware (I expected more) and the White House / Black Market which had some spectacular stuff very reasonably. After realizing we weren't going to make our 4:30 show, we went to Romeo's for dinner and The Driskill for dessert. And the the Dobie very sweetly honored our previous reservations for the 7:10 showing. Really cool decor. Gonna have to come back here. Maybe rent it for the birthday and watch Blade Runner on the big screen or something. --regan
