| Old San Francisco Steak House Sun 01.15.06 6:41pm PST #16864 |
Since Austin is busy celebrating Texas's championship tonight, the city is pretty empty. I took the opportunity to try out Old San Francisco Steak House, a San Antonio chain. Come to find out, the concept is based on a romance between a Texas Ranger and the madam of a brothel. Only in Texas would they not have problems voting that strippers must show their IDs at all times and patronizing a restaurant dedicated to the tragic love of a "woman of the night." Of course, in San Antonio, where food is concerned, all bets are off. |
| Rollergirls Sun 01.15.06 5:57pm PST #16862 |
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Just barely got in to the Lonestar Rollergirls match. When I figured out Rollergirls was filmed up in Austin, I knew I had to go. Everyone else apparently also thought the same thing. The match (The Cherry Bombs vs. The Hellcats) is completely sold out. **spoiler alert** Clownsnack is on the injured reserve for the Hellcats so they must let her back into the league. Had a great perch for the first quarter, but I'd been ejected from it at the beginning of the second, so I'm heading home since I can't actually SEE anything any more. Plus, it's an hour and a half drive home, and I'm hungry. Next time, I'm geting here the time I left San Antonio (4:30) so I can get a seat. And there will be a next time because I wanna see the Holy Rollers skate. Oh, and I stenciled a shirt this morning for the occasion. Smart girls kick butt. ;) |

When I get home, I've gotta send y'all a shot of a temporary wall we rasterbated at work. Wall was c. 20 ft. wide and 10 ft. high. We covered it because the wall was put up to block off a popular exit during construction. A lot of folks kept accidentally turning into that (now dead end) hall to try to leave through it. Figured we'd give them something to grin about when they realized they'd gone the wrong way. We took a wide shot of the Starbucks kiosk downstairs, rasterbated it, and pasted it up. Took two of us (hi, Laura) most of one weekend to complete the piece, but it looked great when we were done. |
