Yvette brought Karsen by the office before they head downtown for the Battle of Flowers parade.

I may have posted this before, but I love this stuff. Used to get it each year when we went to Coleman's for Christmas. Found at the local Michaels in the section of overpriced sugary goods next to the register. Mmm.

Fiesta kicked off today, and the WEBB party was one of the first events. Catherine (in the first picture with coworker Josh) went along with me to the San Antonio Museum of Art (see Dale Chihuly ceiling art) for the gala, which benefited the San Antonio AIDS Foundation. We got to sample some great food, see Brini Maxwell in fine form, and take a limo ride over to and from the Bonham Exchange, which we were both amazed exists in conservative San Antonio. I knew I had chosen the right dress when a gay guy came up to me and said, "I love your dress. If I were a girl, I'd wear a dress, and that's the dress I'd want."

Okay. So I'm spoiling part of my Mother's Day present for Mom by saying this, but *does happy diva dance* I got to meet Brini Maxwell!!! *does more happy diva dancing* Catherine and I are going to the San Antonio AIDS Foundation's gala tomorrow night (body paint by Mac Cosmetics!) at which 'she's' going to make an appearance, but I didn't want to spoil her evening by having her sign stuff. I am embarassed to say that I agonized over what to wear for the signing and ended up with a Bob Mackie t-shirt, which Brini, ever the perfect hostess, complimented me on. *glows*

Laura's doing a WAC-style piece with Irma and Nicole. I got to make her skirt, which was my first foray into the world of the zipper foot. Far less intimidating than I had imagined. The second shot is Laura displaying how they're going to hold back the cheering throngs, and I included a few shots of the rehearsal.

I'd like to point out that today I've baked cookies and sewed a pair of pants and a skirt. Unfortunately, as none of the items of clothing were for myself, I'm not sure what I'm going to wear tomorrow. But I do know it'll have a little give in the waist for some of those cookies.

In sane parts of the country, it's dogwood time, but we're already at the end of the first round of roses in south Texas. These are all my neighbors'. I and my homeowner's association have managed to kill all of mine.

My team had a "Spurs kitty" going around for contributions to game ticket for my birthday. Laura got us these great seats with they money, and although they lost, we still had a lot of fun. She wrote Jon to arrange the Coyote visit, and you can tell from the horrific "do I have broccoli in my molars" smile that I was pleasantly surprised. ;)

Dropped by for Ashley's going away. She's being whisked off to Google, along with Winston (and a shot of the bookthong I made her -- I'm addicted to the things). Finally, a shot of her showing off the Fiesta finery brought over by some neighbors who were way cool for being firmly in mlee's workplace demographic.

Kendra took her pomeranians, Sasha (l) and Talulah Belle (r), for their pin-up shots at Doggie Style Boutique today. You can tell I was focusing on Paris Hilton instead of the shop's owner in the second shot. She's pictured here without her Sidekick (but I always knew she was a bitch). ;) The shot of Sasha drinking shows off their little bikinis Kendra found at Target, and then I caught a couple of them both posing for the photographers, who were really talented at getting good looks out of the girls. Can't wait to see the final version. ;)
