Is so cool. They decorated all road-trip-y for my going away. They even did the MapQuest directions from here to there, and stuck little kitty stickers on each of the cars, so Sug's accounted for. I'm gonna miss these guys.
San Antonio
this picture is owned by the submitter. contact submitter for permission before using it in any wayAs seen downtown. I went to visit a local corsetry around the corner from this shop, but it didn't have air conditioning, and I couldn't take it.

I'd also like to add that one doesn't fully appreciate one's porcelain collection until one takes digital inventory of every single piece before packing it. *grumbles about starting up a collection of something smaller and less breakable*
Beer N All Drive Thru

The success of the Aveda Institute San Antonio must have convinced other folks to take root at the site of the old Pearl Brewery. There's now a culinary school and the stable's been redone. And yet another great dessert from Texas Farm to Table.
*waves goodbye*

Did my last Friday Lunch with Mike and got the requisite shot of Mike gesticulating while talking. He allowed me to cross one more item off my to-do list by treating me to the Rudy's up in Boerne.
Making the best of a bad situation...

Mine has velcro instead of a grommet, but I imagine this way keeps it from ripping if I overstuff it. Which never happens. *blinks innocently*

We did a sudoku theme for Amy's birthday celebration at work. I used a tutorial on Craftster to make a felt flower for the flamingo cabochon I'd picked up. The desk was all puzzled up, and Ashley and I did a 4 foot wide real puzzle on the floor tiles. This morning I got up and created a pair of shoe-do-ku (I know the second shoe shot is experiencing some whiteout, but it shows the colors better). Janet got her a cake from downstairs that fits with Amy's upcoming vacation (Pam modified an old New Yorker cover to fit). Al in all, highly successful.

Made a pecan pie for Jean's last day. Just realized my beat-up print of the recipe is from a 10 year old e-mail my cousin Deb sent. The recipe itself is handed down from my paternal grandmother, who was born in 1903 and passed away 20 years ago.

A few chicks from the Austin Craft Mafia (including Jennifer Perkins whose great kitschy jewelry I've been addicted to for a few years now -- coworkers don't click on her link at work) and DIY's show Stylicious came out to join in the fun at The Work*Shop in Austin. Leah did a Q&A session and signed books, we had a mini craft swap, and then we had at the crafts. Lots of folks opted for the Badge-a-Minit, which foiled quite a few attempts, but I ended up with a Craftster Army mirror to show for it. ;)

I'm definitely going to have to talk Holly's mom and Stephanie into coming out here to this place before I go. The owners are SO sweet, plus the supplies were great.
