I finally got out there to see her wonderful house and meet Petey (row 3). Tricia brought a gorgeous photo album dedicated to her newest little one, Tyler. The album had some amazing shots in it we all enjoyed browsing. I think if I were staying here I might venture to the photographer's studio with The Sug, just because she managed to capture such natural expressions out of Tricia's two year old, Carson, whom you know had to be bouncing off the walls after 150 photos. The pizzas were a great success, and we ended the evening recalling our former Diva events and noshing on desserts. Note to self: rum is not a good base for woad (used vodka last time, but this time it was already packed). Rum dries sticky. Sticky woad is undesirable. |

| Milanos Sat 08.12.06 7:43am PDT #18940 |
![]() ![]() Had dinner with Laura and Judith at Milanos. The waitress was kinda not so hot with the shots, so I Photoshopped them a bit so you can at least see us in the shot, and used Picture Transfer to get them back on to the Sidekick. Couldn't find them at first; remember that Picture Transfer puts stuff in your Device Gallery. Gonna miss these chicks terribly, dammit. |
| "There is only one Return..." Fri 08.11.06 4:57pm PDT #18935 |
![]() ![]() Mike and I went out for Jason's today for lunch and hit Huebner Oaks to see Clerks 2. Bad idea, since it was all about friends parting. And I ain't buying a Diamond Shamrock to stay down here. I had my first all-out-bawl in the parking lot afterwards and then dried up at the tanning place. Back to the pack. |
| Places Left Unfinished Thu 08.10.06 7:04pm PDT #18928 |
On my ride home for the last two nights our local NPR station has been airing John Philip Santos reading excerpts from his Places Left Unfinished at the Time of Creation. It's an oral history of his family in south Texas and Mexico, and I'm hoping they're going to put out a CD version of him reading it. His inflection blends so well with the material that you can feel the texture of the words as they come pouring out of the radio. He clearly has a passion for this place, and it's not hard to see why. |
| Wing Stop Wed 08.09.06 7:00pm PDT #18915 |
![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Hit Wing Stop tonight with the old team (l to r: Alan, Janet, Mari who was standing in for Yvette and a welcome addition, and Amy). Ashley brought Miss Avery (photos 3 - 6), and Mari's husband, Steve, brought little Oliviana (7 and 8). Karen got waylaid by coworkers, and somehow I managed not to get a picture of her. I blame the lollipop distraction. |
