Went to visit Granny this morning. She was all spunky and looked great. She was all excited that I could get a picture of both of us together. And the beautiful garden is Uncle Marvin and Aunt Dot's back yard, which is full of beautiful blooms.

Staying the evening with my Uncle Marvin and Aunt Dot and their pom, Presley Dion, who is *adorable*. He's so well-behaved, too. Sug and I have our own room in another section of the house, but I think the barking still spooked her. She's probably tired of being a show kitty today, too. Anyhow, she's protesting by hiding under the bed, which means she missed out on the best boiled shrimp I've ever had. Which is okay. More shrimp for me.

Kendra, if they weren't both fixed, Presley and Sasha would make gorgeous tiny pompom puppies. ;)

And, yes, I know the full shot of him is corrupted, but I had to use it anyhow, cause he's so freakin cute. Is that a bad SD card that's causing that?

Got to drop in on Granny today and we had a bit of a talk while she ate dinner. Her favorite bit is the sweet stuff, so y'all know I come by it honest. I'll be running back by tomorrow in the morning to say goodbye and give her another hug.
Stopped Temporarily
this picture is owned by the submitter. contact submitter for permission before using it in any wayI'm stopped for a bit outside of Baton Rouge as a massive storm rolls through. Fortunately, my companion is sleeping soundly through it.
Coushatta Update
this picture is owned by the submitter. contact submitter for permission before using it in any wayMade it to Kender today. Sug did much better this time. Slept almost the whole way after some initial protests. I apologize for the delay in posting. I managed to get 8 hours of sleep for the first time in two weeks or so as soon right after I got in.
First Stop -- Oakridge Motor Inn
this picture is owned by the submitter. contact submitter for permission before using it in any wayWell, I only made it c. 2 hours outside San Antonio before I had to crash at the Oak Ridge Motor Inn. Note the woven pleather chair with turned legs, signifying... um. Something. It even has a spot where the vinyl's been fixed with that stuff they advertised all the time in the 70s that you iron on. Night everybody.
Yesterday my life was filled with rain...
this picture is owned by the submitter. contact submitter for permission before using it in any waySomebody's gonna miss the sun from the east when we move.

For anybody keeping track, I think I'm gonna switch the leaving from Monday to Tuesday. I was stressing over having to drive 6 hours after the movers leave, and then I realized that duh -- I just have to be there before my furniture. Not like I'm rushing to get to a job or something. So that means I can do little things like get new tires tomorrow afternoon after the house is empty. Plus, it'll give me extra time in Coushatta. Yaaaay!

Visited with Sammy as his babysitter for the final time today. He was more affectionate than usual -- I think he knew something was up. Got a few shots of his beautiful blue eyes before saying goodbye.

Tricia threw me a grand final farewell party tonight at her gorgeous place. I kinda wanted to have a quiet going-away with some of the families I've grown close to down here, and she played hostess to carry out the event above and beyond my expectations. We had both fajitas and Chinese food, and the kids lasted four hours before the sugar and the company began to get the best of them. The guests were greeted at the door by Maui, an Italian Greyhound, and the Texas cookies came from Nadlers. The youngest attendee was 5 month old Tyler (Tricia and Wade's own, shown in the second shot with Amy). Older brother Carson cried out "Bevo!" when he opened the shirt I stenciled him (which I still think is some sort of new DVR each time I hear it), and I got a shot of him roughhousing on the floor with dad Wade. Tricia also got Nadlers to make a Texas-shaped cake with some chick driving a car off on it with a cat hanging out the window and an "I love my Spurs" bumpersticker. Avery sat at the table with her mom and dad, Lisa and Ashley, and enjoyed the cake, as did Zoe and Carson. After a chance encounter with a table, Avery reminded all of us that cookies make everything better, and, after opening some spectacular gifts which I won't go into here for fear of getting all weepy, I snapped a shot of the Bindseil males all tuckered out. They had a long day.
Silo
this picture is owned by the submitter. contact submitter for permission before using it in any wayDined tonight at Silo with Catherine. It was amazingly tasty. Unfortunately, the shot of the itty bitty quail legs is corrupted (anybody else having problems with their 2 meg cards?) and the shot the "professional photographer" took of us is waaaaay too dark. So here's the outside of the building. ;)
