Out shopping with Mom at Potomac Mills for her birthday. Having a lot of fun and stocking up on Christmas gifts for next year.

Holly and Greg left this morning, and the place looks like they were never here except for the towels in the dryer and the soy milk in the fridge. Got a few shots of the two of them around Occoquan on Wednesday (including an encounter with Big Daddy -- Greg suggests I take a shot of Sugar next to Big Daddy so she'll look all svelte). Sug had grown to like them, and now she's walking around the house crying, looking for them everywhere. Or maybe she just wants back in my bedroom. Not sure. Despite the amount of time Sug and I spend making noises at each other, I'm still not fluent in cat.

Greg got a shot of Holly and me at Victor's, drinking birch beer, waiting for our fries and cheese sticks, just as we did a half a lifetime ago.

Whee! I love McSweeney's, and somebody sent me an amazingly cool shirt from there. On which I can use the book s4xton sent to transform it into a tote bag or something or something equally neat. However, said sender didn't sign the gift message, so I'm not sure who to thank. Anybody care to fess up to the awesomeness?

Nothing like actual guests to make me get off my tookus and finish the guest room. Pictured are Carmelita (getting a sheet of seaweed from Greg) and Holly (those of you who heard about my flat-paint brain freeze can tell that it's been resolved by the reflecting red wall).

Had to get a picture of my fridge with fruits and vegetables in it. Holly and Greg are spending some time here, and it looks all healthy-like. It's going to be disappointed when they leave, and life returns to subsistance on frozen fried chicken and chocolate chip muffins.

I completely and totally neglected to blog Natalie's birthday, so your consolation prize is a shot of my super-cool gift from Ash, two Cube World guys. They are highly amusing. The only problem is that I keep wanting to show my cool new toy off to my coworkers... who aren't so much here. Wah.

Got to have late lunch at Lake Ridge Pizzaria with the best friend, Holly, and her husband, Greg, on their parting journey up the east coast on the way to life in Austria. Fortunately, because Greg has a complicated prescription and the lens place isn't in a hurry, I should be able to see them at least one more time before they take off. Yaaay.
