Well, that was fun.

Dropped Aaron off at the Franconia Springfield Metro station so he can head up to the Wheaton station to be picked up by Mike. It's raining here, but we still did a mini tour of Occoquan today, including Accolades Florist, home of Big Daddy, Unofficial Kitty Ambassador of Occoquan, and Garden Kitchen (photos 2 and 3). And photo 4 explains why the post yesterday completely neglected to mention that the photo exhibit we caught was a Best Of Wildlife exhibit at the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History. *ahem*
I'm in ur museum, stealin' ur garbage.

Two-headed duckling and winged squirrel (ultimate enemy of birdfeeders everywhere) as seen at The Palace of Wonders. Here for Cheeky Monkey Sideshow. Praying that my car doesn't get towed from the AutoZone lot. I explained to the manager that I can't parallel park. In an odd moment of HN synergy, I'm sitting next to Holly from Fluid Momement, whom Mike often photographs. We've been talking about ihasacheeseburger.
Interview
this picture is owned by the submitter. contact submitter for permission before using it in any wayInterviewed with ThinkGeek today. I've never had *fun* in an interview before. It was great to meet them and hang out with folks without having to explain away all my eccentricities. And I didn't have to answer that inane "Where do you see yourself in 10 years?" question.

Pictured is NOT the ThinkGeek headquarters. It was even cooler than this Second Life incarnation. Only not with mid-century modern furniture and martini-serving robots. Course, the martini-serving robot may have just not been on my portion of the tour.

I hope they liked me as much as I liked them. Felt like I really fit in there.

Stayed overnight with Tim and Sabrina and Sasha and Nadya + their four cats and two puppies. Gerri (aka Grrrri -- she's not too happy about the rest of the menagerie who arrived after her) is in the first two pics. She came in and napped in the arch of my foot this morning. And Willow and Jester are in the next two shots (Willow in an atypical calm moment).

I'm flying standby on an earlier flight today that'll get me back home 3 hours earlier. *fingers crossed that I make it*
Blizzard Pass (A Solo Adventure)
this picture is owned by the submitter. contact submitter for permission before using it in any wayOkay. This doesn't qualify as "blizzard." But it sure is weird to have snow in April here. Heading out to San Antonio for the game. Plane's deiced, and I'm ready to go. Oops. And I apologize for the huge resolution. Was capturing kitties yesterday.

She considers her new toy options from her Easter basket. You can tell she was overwhelmed with enthusiasm.

Anybody in San Antonio free for lunch Sunday? I got a flight in just before the gaming session and extended my stay so my flight out isn't until around 3 p.m. Sunday. Bad idea. Problem? It's *Easter,* and most folks will be churching it Sunday morning and then noshing with family. Do I have any friends who aren't partaking in that combo? I'll have a rental car to make myself available. Give me a holler if you want to do something.
every thing that grows Holds in perfection but a little moment
this picture is owned by the submitter. contact submitter for permission before using it in any wayLooks like cherry blossom season is going to be woefully short here this year. This massive weeping cherry is in a neighbor's yard. After walking by the ones planted in our condo common area, I had to run back with my camera to catch them before they disappear.

Had to share some pictures of the latest creation, now that I'm sure Robert has received it. It's a seal, presumably driven south by global warming and pictured hanging out in my freezer. Note the Japanese pattern I made him from, the only source for this amount of kawaiitude. ;)
