My first class was yesterday, but it isn't a -real- class. Univ100's only benefit is that it's air conditioned >: (

Eirik came with me to pick up my books and hunt around for the location of the class, and then I dropped him off and headed back to the bookstore...because they cancelled my Univ100 for no reason at all and I had to make another trip before class started, bah! Not to mention they cancelled my Chicano Studies books too, yarghhh. Ill be picking those up later this week.

A good plus is after class Eirik and I went halfsies on House of Leaves, full-color Edition :D too bad there was so much assigned reading yesterday for me to read anything else >: (

Got a laptop for school, and I love it...well, actually! I kinda hate it >: (

Purchased this on Thursday when BestBuy was still selling it for $550, I'm pretty happy that I urged my mom to go get it THAT day, because right after it immediately jumped back to $700 :D

Anyway, I'm not a Vista girl. I looked for any excuse to downgrade back to XP and that excuse was: NETOWRKING~ Yeah, that wasn't happening. So a format and fresh install later it's found out that Gateway is really pushing Vista on its users by not offering any of the XP drivers on their site. My brother was a saint and he found the graphics and wireless drivers for me, but this morning I tried to load some audio and realized I still didn't have sound drivers :( Both Robert and Rod skidaddled for the day, but not before some effort on Robert's part to find -something-. But alas, he had to leave and I was left to scour countless threads of users on Gateway notebooks in the same predicament as I, though not on the same model number. Finally after two hours I found my driver, and now all I need is...

A new router! Did I mention installing XP didn't solve my networking problem because my router is an old piece of S and drops the entire network's connection when trying to broadcast wirelessly? Tomorrow I'm heading over to Fry's to purchase a new router and hopefully this will be the end of all my hatred and the start of my love affair with my new laptop~<3

Katie, Paola and I tagged along with Mariela to help her move into her dorm room at Biola, today! It's very exciting, and her dormmate seems pretty nice! I envy the dorm life, and I can't wait for Katie move in September at CSULB, hopefully we'll be able to help her too!

From the CSULB pyramid! Had a job interview this morning at the campus bookstore for a position the mainly entails listing outdate text books on amazon. It went well and the only thing the would really hinder me is my crazy schedule >: (

It still sounds hopeful! I hear back from her next week so here's hoping~

Even so, I'm glad its required, it was very informative and I have a way clearer view on what classes I need to be taking. That being said: my schedule!

M- Philosophy, Chicano Studies, and Aerobics (avoiding freshman 15, damnit!)
Tu- Music Appreciation, Psychology 100
W- Philosophy, Chicano Studies
Th- Music Appreciation, Psychology 100
F- Philosophy, Chicano Studies


Definitely not the most interesting schedule, but because my registration was so late I wasn't left with much choice :P Also on T+Th I have huge gaps of time where I'm doing nothing, but since it was the only Psych class open it was unavoidable :(
