Im writing this while in one of the rooms in a mexico police station, no im not in jail, not in trouble, nothing of the sort. Im alive, and that's all that matters at this point. There was an accident. My friends are ok, im ok, that's all there is to it. There was panic after we hit the car. Airbag dust everywhere, antifreeze across the asphalt, it could've been our blood. Police, or shall I say policia, or even better "federalies" arrived at the scene faster than I've seen any american police do so. I was grateful. "The chief" or so he said personally helped us. Later, he ended up giving me his buisness card. We gatherd all the content of the car, brought it with us to the station, we could've paid for a cab, but the police were kind enough to put it in the back of their truck. Where were we to ride? Oh, ok, we can fit in the back of the truck also. Sounds good. We arrived and there was much waiting, lots of waiting, more waiting, some snacking. Im anxious the whole way through. We were smart enough to purchase the mexican insurance, which was what we were waiting for, for them to show up. They came, they saw, now im waiting some more, my friends went with him to take a look at the car, its condition, its damage. All throughout the incident we had spectators among us. It was one man in particular that amazed me. I made eye contact with him, and he started to speak to me in broken english, "I saw your car." He started of... "you girls are lucky to be alive, god bless you, god bless you." Gob bless us. On our way to the station while in the back of the truck, we had our picture taken, for what we will probably never know, it was nice to know that we were important enough to have that done, some sort of local celebritys for a moment or two, lucky to be here, lucky to be alive. I don't think ill be back to mexico anytime soon, if ever. I have no want nor need to put my self in another situation much like this one. When I do leave, I know I'll have the re-assuring feeling of knowing if I ever have to be put in a situation much like this again, I have people here, watching over me. Just because they might not fluently speak your language, doesn't mean that they are bad. I don't speak theirs, and they didn't see me as a threat. Authority, no matter what country you are in, especially even if its not your own, is always there for you. Very understanding, very helpful. In this case, things could've turned out a whole lot differently, things could have been a whole lot worse. Id like to think someone has been looking out for me today, as well as my whole life. Because, you see... People need to depend on other people in this world, you can't get yourself through everything and expect to come out of it shimmering and shining. In the end of this day I am first and foremost glad, no EXSTATIC that I am here, and glad that I know that in my time of need, people will be there for me. Now, im not going to lie to you... As soon as I cross that border I will be breathing a sigh of relief, but it will be a much lighter sigh then I have in the past, a softer one, if you will. My country is my country and will always be my country, but now I know that no matter where I go, I will always take that with me.

Days turned into nights, in our summer of lost love. There was something about that look in your eyes, the way your smile complimented mine, and our adventures by night. Nights I'll always remember, nights turned into days. These days I miss you.
