Went to newport beach today. Hit a place called gina's pizza, on the boardwalk at the balboa pier, before going to the scary dark ride (the main reason I was excited about going to newport). It was a twisted pirate theme, so I was disapointed that it didn't have a better entry sign or name. I mean "scary darkride". Terrible. Anyway... It was fcuking awesome. Lots of blacklights. The carts looked really cool, kind of coffin-esque. There were wierd skeleton pirates, headless chained pirate bodys with plenty of fake blood, and blacklight paint all over the walls with treasure chests and stuff. It had plenty of "scary" pirate sounds though out. A nice few seconds at the end in darkness before a voice says "dead men tell no tells" and a strobe light flashes on a skeleton pirate in a cage. Probably the coolest darkride I've been on. Well... The more carnival style darkrides... Not the millions of dollar ones like at disneyland. Speaking of... The night before xmas haunted mansion has the be the sickest darkride ever. It would have been cool to see it old school haunted mansion style too. Btw... Its not very common knowledge that those type of sit down rides... That are in a darkened room/rooms... Are actually called darkrides. Yes... As corney as it is... "Darkride". I didn't know they were called that either untill a year ago or so. I found a couple web sites for darkride fans when I was tripping out on this darkride that was at a carnival... Hey wait... I think there is a photo blog entry about that carnival. Anyway... The rest of newport beach was cool too. Abbie and becca got shell neckalces with tiger shark teeth on them. They really didn't want to leave the ocean. I got that close up picture of her while she was pouting.

Now we are driving back to phoenix. It was a really fantastic vacation. I guess its back to my "normal" life in arizona. Anyway.
